These photos were taken from Fall 2018 through March 2019 during recording sessions for Bon Iver’s I,I.
Photographs were taken in and around Saint Paul, MN, Eau claire, wI, and Tornillo, TX. The focus came from lists of words and phrases based on changing of seasons (particularly summer to autumn to winter) Life & Death, and Good & Evil. Eric Timothy Carlson and Aaron Anderson created the many collage pieces and videos that make up the album art, release material, and music videos. without their artistic vision and creative effort the photos would only exist in this singular way.
The photos taken during this time were used to make the album artwork and much of the Imagery Around the release . TU Dance members Taylor Collier, Jacob Lewis, Alex Pham, Randall Riley, Alexis Staley, and Christian Warner along with Founders and Choreographers Toni Pierce-Sands & Uri Sands worked and set movement to many of the songs on the record during these sessions. Their work largely informed the vibe of the project as a whole and was captured for accompanying music videos and physical & digital release material.
